Christian Bazant-Hegemark (*1978) is a visual storyteller. He paints open-minded stories whose interpretations grow with their viewers. Using visual fragments, his works offer cues to create emotions and narrative strands.
His exhibition at the Complexity Science Hub shows works from 2011-2018, offering an emotive, visual framing for Complexity Science.

About the artist

Bazant-Hegemark studied Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna — in the classes of Daniel Richter, Harun Farocki and Gunter Damisch (2006-2011). To further dive into the complexities of storytelling in contemporary painting, he spent four additional years there — researching his Doctoral Thesis (PhD) about “Painting and digital technologies” (Elisabeth von Samsonow, Felicitas Thun-Hohenstein, 2011-2015).
Christian Bazant-Hegemark lives and works in Vienna. He is represented by Galerie Voss, Düsseldorf.
