CSH researcher Nils Haug will give this talk at the Conference on Complex Systems 2019, Parallel Session 2: Diseases & Epidemics 1.

The conference takes place at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore from September 30 to October 4, 2019.

Abstract:

Chronic diseases such as diabetes, obesity, ischaemic heart disease or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease affect a large number of the world’s population. Often, the risk to develop a certain chronic condition increases if a patient already suffers from another one. To make health care more effcient, we need to better understand how different diseases condition each other over the life course of patients. Large data sets of electronic medical records promise a powerful new tool which we can use to reach this goal.
