Abstract

In a world that allows increasing interconnectivity and constant evolution in digital matters, our IT systems are at risk more than ever. Digital attackers are constantly refining their strategies – threats lurk behind any networked digital device. Cyber security is becoming a major challenge, making it a key factor for the success of any institution. But how can we protect critical infrastructure from these threats? What measures are already in place? Will possible attacks ever be diminished?

Given the huge importance of this issue, the organizers (AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, Complexity Science Hub Vienna and ETH Zürich) have taken the opportunity to set up a panel discussion as part of this year’s Berlin Science Week, featuring renowned experts on the subject. The aim is to inspire a discussion on the latest developments in protecting critical infrastructure, and to give a chance to the public to pose any burning questions on this topic.
