Abstract:
In recent decades, complex systems and complexity in general started to play a crucial role in the description of real physical, biological and socioeconomic systems. However, description of complex systems, its classification and modeling remain still open problems in many applications. One of the possible approaches is to use the results from information theory. It provides us with a general framework enabling to measure and characterize structure and dynamics of a given system.
The aim of this workshop is to discuss applications of information theory, especially entropic measures in various fields as physics, biology or financial markets and to stimulate the collaboration.
