In the future, a number of factors will become relevant that influence the handling of data and the avoidance of algorithmic bias. Specific regulation, increased awareness in society, but also the preservation of the reputation of companies will play an important role and affect different industries and disciplines, such as science, healthcare, mobility, banking and insurance.
- How should data driven analysis better align with digital humanism? For instance, preserving privacy and avoiding discrimination of certain vulnerable groups.
- How can complexity science be used to tackle algorithmic biases? For instance, analysing the formation of online hate and extremism, detecting bias in data, and designing mitigation and intervention scenarios.
In collaboration with leiwand.ai, the Complexity Science Hub invites to a workshop for a selected group of experts from science and business: social, ethics, computer and data science, as well as digital and privacy law.
The results of the workshop will be integrated in a White Paper to be published in 2023.
