Jakob Hauser

Research Assistant

Jakob Hauser has been a research assistant at the Complexity Science Hub since March 2023.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in cognitive science and artificial intelligence. Jakob wrote his bachelor’s thesis on “Multi-Objective Hyper-Parameter Optimization for Quality Estimation of Machine Translation”.

With a focus on natural language processing, Jakob will be working with the Seshat: Global History Database team, to create a dataset for fine-tuning large language models. These models then could be used to detect text segments relevant to historical polities.

Jakob’s interest range from agent-based modelling, over natural language processing to open source intelligence and environmental issues.
