Jan Fialkowski has been a PhD candidate at the Complexity Science Hub since December 2022.

He got his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at TU Berlin in physics. In his master thesis he focused on dynamical systems. In particular he studied the synchronization phenomena of adaptively coupled phase oscillators using numerical studies and analytical tools e.g. mean-field reductions.

His current work focuses on analysing supply networks, the way shocks propagate through them and how disease dynamics influence them.

Jan is also pursuing his PhD at the Medical University of Vienna.
