Markus Hofer
PhD Candidate
Markus Hofer started his position as a PhD Candidate at the Complexity Science Hub in July 2022. His research focuses on the statistical mechanics of complex systems.
After completing his bachelor’s degree from TU Wien, he continued studying physics at the University of Copenhagen. His master’s thesis on phase transitions in model-ecosystems was supervised by Kim Sneppen.
Markus’ interest includes stochastic thermodynamics, nonequilibrium statistical mechanics, and computational models of complex systems.
Markus is also pursuing his PhD at the Medical University of Vienna.
