Miguel Centeno

Miguel Angel Centeno currently serves as vice-dean of the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University, USA. From 2003 to 2007, he served as the founding director of the Princeton Institute for International and Regional Studies (PIIRS). From 1997 to 2004, he also served as head of Wilson College at Princeton, from 2012 to 2017 as chair of the Sociology Department.

He is the founder of the Research Community on Global Systemic Risk funded by PIIRS from 2013 (http://risk.princeton.edu). He is also starting a new book project on the sociology of the discipline.

In 2000, Miguel founded the Princeton University Preparatory Program, which provides intensive supplemental training for lower income students in local high schools.

Miguel Centeno has published many articles, chapters, and books. His latest publications are War and Society (2016), Global Capitalism (2010), States in the Developing World (2017) and State and Nation Making in the Iberian World (2013 and 2018).
