Pool Size Calculator helps to find ideal pooling size
In March, CSH researchers Rudi Hanel and Stefan Thurner proposed a method to multiply corona testing by pooling several test samples. The method would be of great help in times of limited testing capacity.
Based on Rudi’s and Stefan’s preprint, the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine at the Université du Luxembourg developed a calculator for the optimal pooling size.
The online Pool Size Calculator allows to control for test sensitivity, test specificity and expected positive rate.
