Event discusses cryptoasset analytics

Apr 20, 2022

Academics and business leaders will come together in an international workshop on April 25th

A forum where scientists and professionals can learn and discuss the latest advancements in cryptocurrencies and their ecosystems: this is the idea of the 1st International Workshop on Cryptoassets Analytics, according to Bernhard Haslhofer, CSH team leader and senior scientist who is one of the organizers of the event.

“There has been a growing scientific interest in analyzing the complex system of cryptoassets, with an increasing number of papers on empirical studies observing the real world or inferring models, for instance,” says Bernhard.

“We want the workshop to serve as a venue for people to publish their papers and meet with researchers and professionals in this field”, states Bernhard, who adds that three peer-reviewed papers will be presented by their authors during the online workshop on April 25th.

Decentralized finance

Co-located with The Web Conference 2022, the event will also include talks from Imperial College London’s Arthur Gervais and University College London’s Jiahua Xu regarding decentralized finance. “Xu recently wrote an interesting paper on automated market makers and decentralized exchanges, which are important building blocks of the decentralized finance ecosystem,” explains the CSH scientist.

In addition to the workshop, Bernhard will lead a tutorial on how to analyze various aspects of Bitcoin and Ethereum’s ecosystems using cutting-edge analytics systems, tools, and methods on April 26.

Coming soon: a CSH Workshop

Upcoming is also a one-day workshop at the Hub: On June 13, 2022, Bernhard and his cryptofinance team invite an interdisciplinary group of researchers with a shared interest in cryptoassets and DeFi to discuss opportunities and risks associated with DeFi, and to identify possible future collaboration opportunities and partnerships.
