Vito Servedio on political opinions following a Weber-Fechner law
Vito Servedio presented an online experiment he and colleagues conducted in 2013 right before the Italian elections. He showed the results which intended to uncover voter´s perception of the Italian political space at that time. They found that political opinions follow a sort of Weber-Fechner law, known to occur in the perception of one´s five senses, i.e., our perceptions depend on the logarithm of stimuli intensity. In the future such findings could be exploited to devise more realistic agent-based models of opinion dynamics.
